Legal/Judicial Experience: I was appointed and then elected to the Court of Appeals in 2014. I am now the Acting Chief Judge of Division 1. I was a King County Superior Court Judge for eighteen years before joining the Court of Appeals. Prior to that I was in private practice for fourteen years. I started my career as a public defender.

Statement: I am honored to have served the people of King County and the State of Washington as a judge for twenty years. Besides handling every type of case as a trial judge, I held numerous leadership positions. I was the President of the Washington State Superior Court Judges Association and the Presiding Judge of King County Superior Court. I participated in the Executive Session for State Courts at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
I also bring extensive experience doing trials and arguing appeals as an attorney to the bench.
I was fortunate to receive the King County Washington Women Lawyers Vanguard Award in 2014 and the Alliance for Equal Justice Outstanding Judge in 2006.
